SUNDAY LUXE SERIES: GALA DINNER IN SUPPORT OF THE MICROBIOTA VAULT
05 JUNE 2022, SUNDAY, 6.30 - 9.00PM
As part of the Getting Gutsy - A Key to Lifelong Health Conference, for the 1st time in Asia, The Microbiota Vault, a global non-profit, has invited Singapore to be its regional centre. The Vault functions as a 'Noah's Ark' for human microbiota (the good bacteria, viruses and fungi in our bodies) preserving its biodiversity which is under threat because of urbanisation and environmental change.
The Vault will be signing an MOU with NUS for Singapore to collect and process microbiome samples from the region with an emphasis on securing the samples of Southeast Asia's indigenous people.
The work of the Vault involves:
- COLLECT. The Vault works closely with local teams and research efforts to collect samples from across the world.
- PRESERVE. The Vault provides both a backup storage for local collections, and a framework for sharing data and collaboration.
- ENABLE. The Vault empowers the work of local teams and research efforts with the aim of restoring health globally.
